David began his professional career as a Marine Biologist. Realizing within a few years that money was one of life’s necessities, he migrated towards a career in technology. Towards the end of last century, he started programming image analysis software and creating custom databases. He has owned his own business for the past 17 years and has been involved in everything from maintaining Exchange Servers to removing viruses to programming home control systems.
A little more than 5 years ago, David stumbled upon a cool tool called Power Pivot. While using this “secret weapon” to appear smarter than he actually was, he strengthened his skills in DAX, data modeling, SQL and later Power BI. Since his discovery, he has focused most of his time developing robust data models and BI reports for customers, primarily in the financial services industry.
However, it wasn’t until joining the PowerPivotPro team that he realized how much fun BI can be. Collaborating with some of the best in the industry and working with such a diverse universe of clients has produced the most rewarding stage of his career to date. More importantly, he hopes to never clean a virus infected computer again.
